August 8, 2010 – Waste Watchers Recycling Center will be closing early, between 1 & 2 PM, on Wednesdays when the heat index goes above 100°.   Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but have to consider the health of our volunteers.

 

Laclede Industries Update

September 7, 2010 – Laclede Industries has completed the purchase of the recycling site.  They will be starting construction shortly, so please watch for a new traffic pattern on site during this construction.

Laclede Industries has also requested we separate the tin (food cans) from the plastic, so please when dropping off your recyclables have the tin separated from the plastic.

 

August 10, 2010 – Lake Ozark Board of Alderman approved the special use permit to allow a recycling operation on our current site (we did not have the correct zoning for our operation).  This now allows Laclede Industries to move ahead with the purchase of the land and construction a permanent recycling center.  Next steps are: purchase property; building permit approval; reconfigure site to allow our recycling to continue during construction; construction of building.  Timeline to complete all steps probably 60 to 120 days.

 

 August 8, 2010 - Planning & Zoning has approved the special use zoning.  This now has to go before the Board of Alderman for their approval.  Once that is complete then Laclede Industries can go forward with the purchase of the property.
